There are many perfect hangout spots close to Southpark, we've listed a few of our favourites below that are easily accessible by car, bike, or heel-toe express!

ᐄᓃᐤ (ÎNÎW) RIVER LOT 11∞ INDIGENOUS ART PARK

Located in Queen Elizabeth Park, The Indigenous Art Park was created in partnership with the City of Edmonton, Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations, Métis Nation of Alberta, the Edmonton Arts Council and Indigenous artists. Here you will find six art installations created by Indigenous artists asked to create pieces “inspired by this land”.

Dogs are allowed on a leash.

HENRIETTA MUIR EDWARDS PARK

This small park has several surprises! You can walk across the Leilani Muir Pedestrian Bridge, where you'll have great views of our river valley. If you go the other way, you’ll have quick access to the Muttart Conservatory and its iconic pyramids.  

There is also a full barbecue pit and picnic tables, making it the perfect place to spend a summer day. There are also tons of paved walking and biking trails in the area.

WILLIAM HAWRELAK PARK

This gorgeous park located in the river valley features a five-hectare lake and open meadows. The park hosts several major festivals and events throughout the year and is a fantastic location for all Edmontonians and visitors to explore. There’s a playground, tons of amazing walking and cycling trails and even an off-leash dog park just located to the south of the park.

 

Dogs are allowed on a leash, and there is also an off-leash dog area.

MILL CREEK RAVINE PARK

This is one of the best parks in the city for becoming one with nature. There is an abundance of gorgeous greenery, picnic sites, awesome walking/cycling trails, and an off-leash dog area for your four-legged friends.

SouthBARK is a unique interactive dog park that is accessible for everyone! The park features interactive play structures for your furry friends and Instagrammable photo ops for you both!
